Mark McGwire Vintage Baseball Bats

Mark McGwire Baseball Bats

Mark McGwire began his Major league career in Oakland with the Athletics. He ended his career with the Cardinals of St Louis. He started with the A's in 1986. He played along side Jose Canseco. The two helped the A's win the pennant three years in a row. In 1989 the Athletics won a World Series. In his first year he was voted Rookie of the Year. In 1989 the A's returned to the World Series against the San Francisco Giants. The A's went on to win the series but after a ten day delay because of the Loma Prieta Earthquake.

After a super disappointing season in 1991 Mark decided to get back and the weight room and saw a sports doctor. The following year he changed his look as an attempt to look scarier. He returned to form that year and the A's returned to post season play. In 1997 the A's traded him to the Cardinals. During the 1998 season McGwire and Sammy Sosa engaged in a battle to beat Roger Maris' home run record. McGwire would break it on September 8. He set the record later that season with 70 home runs. Mark McGwire is another player who Jose Canseco named as using steroids. While he has never been convicted his testimony in front of congress did little to prove his innocence. Some speculate this is why he has yet to be voted into the hall of fame.
