Craig Biggio Vintage Baseball Bats

Craig Biggio Baseball Bats

Craig Biggio like Jeff Bagwell spent his entire baseball career with the Astros. Like Frank Thomas and other baseball players he excelled at both baseball and football. He turned down football scholarships to play baseball. He was drafted by the Astros in 1987.

He won the starting catcher job in 1989. By 1992 Biggio was playing second base. He did quite well as a second baseman and was selected as an all star. He lost the second base position to Jeff Kent but got it back when Jeff left for LA. He joined the 3,000 hit club in 2007. Later that same season Biggio decided to retire. He finished out the 2007 season. In 2008 the Astros retired his number.

Once a player like Craig Biggio joins the ranks of elite hitters who manage to get hits an amazing 3,000 times during their career, it's pretty much guaranteed that their baseball bats will be sold as collector's items. When a player retires it puts an end to the number of baseball bats signed and used during his career. Knowing that there are a limited number of bats out there makes them all the more collectible.
